Royston Open Secrets

FAQs

Below are answers to the most frequently asked questions.

What is Royston Open Secrets?

Royston Open Secrets is an annual event, held on 'The Heath' that aims to showcase local businesses, clubs, support groups and charitable organisations under one umbrella coupled with a fantastic Family Fun Day. The event now in its 8th year is run by a volunteer committee chaired by Linda Turner a local businesswoman.

Why should I have a stand?

Exhibiting is one of the most efficient, effective and successful marketing activities available to you. Having a presence at Royston Open Secrets will give you exposure to an audience of 1000s of local residents on a face to face basis.
No other form of marketing can get you in front of so many potential customers looking for information and guidance. Last year it was estimated over 3000 people attended the event!
For a nominal cost, you can book a pitch at Royston Open Secrets and put your business into an event that has become a major event in the Royston town calendar, now that is real value!

Who can have a stand?

If you run a business, community group, voluntary organisation, charity or sports club you can apply for a pitch at the event. As a local business you have until the 3rd week in April to apply for a stand and lockout a regional/national brand. After this date bookings will be accepted from non local, and out of area businesses, (subject to committee approval).

How much does it cost?

A business pitch is £125.
Community groups, voluntary organisation, charities and sports clubs are FREE (subject to a £10 refundable deposit).

How big will my pitch be?

A business pitch inside the marquee is 3m x 2m
Community groups, voluntary organisation, charities and sports clubs are 2m x 2m.
Outside pitches are nominally 5m x 5m.

If you would like additional space in the marquee, you can purchase more than one 3m x2m pitch and we will locate them next to each other.

Community organisations who require additional space can purchase a 3m x 2m pitch in the marquee for £25

Can I have electricity?

Yes. For an additional fee of £5 we will provide you with a 240v supply with at least 2 outlets.

Please note, due to Health & Safety requirements, you can not use your own extension cables unless they have been PAT Tested and have an up to date certification.

Can I share a stand with another business?

No, sorry we do not allow shared stands at the event. However, we do allow multiple stands. So if you want a bigger pitch you can pay for additional 3m x2m pitches and we will locate them adjacent to each other.

Where do I park?

If you are exhibiting at the event you may park briefly at the rear of the marquee for unloading / loading only, as shown on the Site Plan. Access to the unloading area is via the car park area nearest the rugby pitch, and will be clearly marked. Once you have unloaded move your vehicle to the exhibitors parking area, shown on the site plan, before you set up your display.

Where will my stand be located?

Take a look at the exhibitors page, this shows the location of your stand. Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with the Site layout, and find out where your stand is located before you arrive, it will save you time on the day. There will be a site map and location diagram showing all exhibitor locations at the information point.

When can I start to set up?

The marquee will be available for setting up from 8:00am on the day of the event. Please ensure you are ready by 10:45am. The event will be officially opened at 11:00am.

Will there be refreshments available?

The Heath Sports Centre has a fully licensed bar where hot and cold food and drinks can be purchased throughout the day. In addition they will also be a B-B-Q which will be in operation for most of the day. Exhibitors can pre-order at the bar to prevent queuing.

Pre-Order Lunch
There will be a menu and order form available at the Information point to enable you to pre-order a snack. This must be ordered before 11:00am and will be delivered directly to your stand.

When can I start packing away?

The event runs until 4:00pm. Exhibitors are requested not to start clearing away until after 4:00pm. You may, at your own risk, leave items in the marquee overnight after the event, however the marquee must be clear by 10:00am the following day.
